Crumpler

When we talk CRUMPLER we’re talking ‘bags’ and for sure, not the brown paper variety! CRUMPLER bags are “guaranteed to meet even yr wildest fantasy” and “take any whippin yr busy daze and nights might give them”. A company, which is “fetishly” intent on producing bags, which ‘don’t flunk on you’.

CRUMPLER is the most recent company to move to the North Downs Business Park and what a very dynamic company it is, full of young people, all buzzing around to get the business up and running in its new location. Truly a company of the 21st century! The company originated in Australia some ten years ago and since then has produced a globally known product. It operates on both a wholesale and retail basis.

What are CRUMPLER bags? Broadly speaking, if you want a bag to contain something, it will probably be in their range of products. They will bag anything from a ‘back 2 back’ CD holder to a professional cyclist couriers satchel. If surfing is your thing, they will bag your board! Maybe its backpacking – then they have the bag for you. Whatever your activity, be it skateboarding, IT, scuba diving, cycling, mobile phoning, wind surfing or merely toting your stuff – the list is endless – there will be a bag for you.

What are the features of these bags and makes them different to anything else you may have seen? They are lightweight, shock proof, ‘weasel’ (theft) proof, made of a neoprene fabric (particularly protective from knocks and scrapes), come in all shapes and sizes, with reflective stripe “so u can be seen at night cos u wannabee seeeeen” – again the qualities are endless.

Two of the staff, Claire and Simon Beaumont, have recently moved into the village, close to the new CRUMPLER business offices, having transferred from SW London. They are delighted with their surroundings and the mix of old and new village enterprises, impressed by the new Community Centre and were rather surprised when they saw the article about the BMX park in Focus. Could such a beautiful village, surrounded by the Downs and fields, be so enterprising and forward looking? Simon was soon on the phone to Focus, expressing his wish to become ‘involved’ in what he saw going on around him, particularly with regard to the BMX park. There were of course plenty of people to point him in the right direction.

We wish CRUMPLER well in their new offices and welcome Simon and Claire most warmly to the village.
